Macleay Island Medical Centre is a bulk billing doctors and family practice, serving the Bay Islands community.
Bulk billed services are available to all patients with a current Medicare card. A list of standard appointment fees for those without a Medicare card is available upon request from reception.
Bulk Billing Services
Patients should be aware that fees can apply, depending on the service or procedure. Bulk billing may not be available for the following services:
- Prescribed items, such as scripts and vaccinations. You can buy these from the pharmacy next door to the clinic.
- Medical checks. All insurance, pre-employment, commercial driving medicals etc, will attract fees as they are not billable through Medicare.
- Some procedures may attract a treatment room fee. When a fee is applicable, it will be explained to you prior to your appointment.
- Fees incurred for no-shows or late cancellations are the responsibility of the patient. These will NOT be billed to Medicare.
It is our policy to be as transparent as possible when disclosing fees, and you’ll be advised at the time of booking if any services or procedures are unable to be bulk billed.
If you have any questions about your consultation, and whether it will be bulk billed, please ask at reception.
